Connecting to server with Cyberduck

With many hosting providers providing control panels like cPanel or Plesk with browser based file manager people have forgotten how to connect to the server and manage files. In this article I show how to connect to server using Cyberduck. I personally like Cyberduck although there are many other applications you can use. We allow SSH and SFTP connection to our servers to manage files. Using SSH requires basic knowledge of Linux commands so using SFTP is probably easier for most.

Step 1

Click on the “Open connection” button

Step 2

Select SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) and fill in your server hostname, username and password. Then hit “Connect” button.

Step 3

You are now connected to your server and can transfer files to and from server.
